Stage Go-Ski

The AGI (Associazione Goistica Italiana) is organising its traditional New Year Go-Ski event.
As well as an excellent chance to improve your Go, this represents an enjoyable and stimulating way to celebrate the New Year holiday, skiing on some of the most famous pistes in the Alps - the same pistes used for the 2006 Winter Olympics, playing Go with opponents from many different countries, and enjoying excellent relaxed company. Non Go players are also welcome to join us.
Timing
From 27 th December 2007 to 1 st January 2008 - 5 nights.
Location
Pragelato, in the province of Turin (TO) in Italy , a mountain village 9 km . from Sestriere, about an hour's drive from Turin .
Teaching
The Go teacher will be Christoph Gerlach 6D [Egd]
The lessons will be given in English, with interpretation as necessary. There will also be strong players available for simultaneous matches, and ad hoc lessons at all levels.
Accomodation
The well-known Casa Alpina was completely refurbished for the Olympics, and has become a 3-star hotel, similar to the nextdoor Villa Plenia, as the participants in last year's event know. We will therefore have modern and well-equipped en suite bedrooms, as well as 24-hour access to teaching and playing rooms

Prices: (The prices are the same as last year, and somewhat less than in 2005)
(half board)
4-bed rooms € 38 per person per day
3-bed rooms € 44 per person per day
2-bed rooms € 49 per person per day
Supplement for full board : € 16 per person per day.
Supplement for New Year's Eve banquet (optional) : € 25
(we have the option to do as we have done in previous years and organise our own party in the games room)
Cost of the Go teaching |
To these prices should be added the cost of the Go teaching, for those who wish to take part in the Go course (non Go players are also most welcome): € 40, reduced to € 30 for AGI members and foreign players. |
Besides it will be possible to rent ski + boots and it will be tried to get discounts for the ski-pass.
